1st and 2nd Grade

Monique Geis returns for her 6th year at Mountain Peak to teach the 1st – 2nd grade class. Her classroom is a nurturing environment that supports differentiated learning, challenges students to reach their full potential, and encourages students to be life-long learners. Monique received her Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University and minored in French and history. She went on to receive her Masters’ degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver. Monique has a State of Colorado Teaching License in Elementary Education and worked as a substitute teacher in the Boulder area for one year before pursuing her teaching license. While in her teaching program she student taught 4th grade at Lafayette Elementary in Lafayette, CO and then co-taught 3rd grade for the 2010/2011 school year at Boulder Country Day School. Monique grew up in Colorado and enjoys being active and anything outdoors; hiking, fishing, biking and bird-watching are among her favorite activities.
